Ray Metzger
Ray Metzger (1931-2014) is a modernist photographer specialised in geometrical and
rather graphic black and white photography. In his artworks, the superposition and
juxtaposition of images as well as multiple exposure are well harmonised. He creates
visual relation within his collage work, which leads to different interpretations. The
subjects depicted in the images are often people and irregular geometrical forms.
The photography Philadelphia is a collage of two photos showing contrasty lights in resembling compositions, where the relation between both figures are questioned.
