Christian Hopkins Christian Hopkins is a photographer specializing in surrealism photographies exploring dark topics. The overall tone of his works are all dark, with black/deep blue/grey as dominant colours. His works create spontaneous choking effect, with a message more or less evident about human psychology. In his photos, themes such as loneliness, fear, pain, freedom, imprisonment, etc. are often explored. His likes editing his works in order to create modern design effect. His play with the relation of the components, light and shadow is very interesting. Here are some of his works:

David Levinthal

David Levinthal is an artist who  s pecialises in photography of miniatures. He explores mainly the themes of cultural or social history and identity. He has a unique style in the colours: his artworks are often saturated and contain a dominant colour. He plays with blurring to exaggerate or transform the atmosphere of the composition; he also plays with the light to create shadows and silhouettes.  Here are some of his works:

David Hilliard’s works are mainly concentrated in  a  rural daily life subject. The movements are  soft, and the light  is varying in delicate extends, but not too contrasty at the same time.  As the photographer said himself in a blog,  his projects aim to create order in a disordered world  by taking pictures of his ordinary life. His use o f colour is  very controlled in order that  his photos looks natural and dramatic in the same time, the control between background and su bject  well done, and the ensemble of his photos  works together and each part is communicating with others.   Lost Bouquet, 2011 In this artwork, the artist shows an very interesting play of collage, where both elements are in perfect Harmonie, which is interesting. Ray Metzger

Ray Metzger (1931-2014) is a modernist photographer specialised in geometrical and  rather graphic black and white photography. In his artworks, the superposition and  juxtaposition of images as well as multiple exposure are well harmonised. He creates  visual relation within his collage work, which  leads to different interpretations. The  subjects depicted in the images are often people and irregular geometrical forms. Chicago, 1957 Silver gelatin print The photography Chicago aspires the audience into his undefinable composition, where lights and darks play a game of illusion.  Philadelphia, 1983 Silver gelatin print The photography Philadelphia is a collage of two photos showing contrasty lights in resembling compositions, where the relation between both figures are questioned.
